    Cyclone Warning bulletin issued for Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 14:50 HRS IST of 17-12-2018:

    The Cyclonic Storm 'PHETHAI' over westcentral Bay of Bengal moved further northwards and lay centred at 1130 hrs IST of 17th December, 2018 over west central Bay of Bengal near latitude 16.2N and longitude 82.2E, 60 km east-southeast of Narasapour and 85 km south south -west of Kakinada. It is very likely to move nearly northwards and cross Andhra Pradsh coast around Kakinada today the 17th December afternoon (1500 hrs to 1700 hrs IST) with a wind speed of 70-90 kmph gusting to 100kmph.
    Heavy rainfall warning:
    Rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and extremely heavy falls (>20 cm) at isolated places likely over North coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam district of Puducherry on 17th December 2018.
    Wind Warning:
    Gale wind speed reaching 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph is likely along & off north coastal Andhra Pradesh and squally winds speed reaching 50-60 gusting 70 very likely along & off South coastal Andhra Pradesh.
    Sea Condition:
    The sea condition is very likely to be high to very high over westcentral Bay of Bengal.
    Storm Surge:
    Storm Surge height of about 0.5mts to 1.0 mts above astronomical tides likely to inundate the low laying areas of Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur Districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam District of Puducherry at the time of landfall.
    Damage Expected over Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur Districts and yanam district of puducherry: Damage to thatched huts, minor damage to power and communication lines. Major damage to kutcha and pucca roads. Uprooting of small trees and Some damage to paddy crops, banana, papaya trees etc.
    Fishermen Warning:
    Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea.
    Port warning:
    Danger signal number seven (DS-VII) kept hoisted at Kakinada and Bheemunipatnam ports.
    Danger signal number five (DS-V) kept hoisted at Machilipatnam and Nizampatnam ports.
    Danger signal number six (DS-VI) kept hoisted at Visakhapatnam and Gangavaram ports.
    Local cautionary signal number three (LC-III) kept hoisted at Kalingapatnam, Vadarevu and Krishnapatnam ports.
